Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd. and the TOMODACHI Initiative Partnered to Launch the “TOMODACHI Daiwa House Student Leadership Conference”
Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd.
From April 10‐12, 2015, the TOMODACHI Daiwa House Student Leadership Conference will hold it’s first conference with 30 university students from Japan and the United States at Silicon Valley, California.
The focus of this conference is on entrepreneurship and innovation for university students with academic, career and/or personal interests in U.S.‐Japan relations. For this first conference, 14 Japanese exchange students studying in the United States and 16 students attending a college or university in California were selected.
This first conference will feature former U.S. Ambassador to Japan John V. Roos as the keynote speaker. He will share his experience on being the U.S. Ambassador to Japan and about the next generation of cross‐cultural leaders. In addition, through leadership training workshops focused on fostering future global leaders, students will obtain the skills to become forward‐thinking, active leaders, learn about U.S.‐Japan career opportunities, and network with leaders in Silicon Valley.
As part of activities in corporate social responsibility, Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd. (hereafter “Daiwa House”) has become a Strategic Partner for the TOMODACHI Initiative (hereafter“TOMODACHI”), a public‐private partnership between the U.S.‐Japan Council and the U.S.
