Tokyo, 23 February 2016: A’Train Inc. launched “Products of Japan,” an e-Gallery, on 1 February. It introduces exquisite Japanese works of art to the world.

A’Train Inc. is a company that specializes in maintaining train carriages. This may not sound as if it has any connection with the world of art, but in fact, the two have much in common, for example, masterful technique and a worldwide reputation.

The high technology and reliability of Japanese trains are appreciated all over the world. Dealing with this typically Japanese product has instilled in us the desire to introduce other fine Japanese products to the world, such as traditional art and crafts.

The history of Japanese craftsmanship dates back as far as 3,000 years ago. The beautiful design of excavated lacquer ware relics fascinated artisans, who took on board their traditional artistry and techniques and developed them through the ages up until the present day.

Artistic influences also came from abroad via the Silk Road. Local artisans reinterpreted them in a Japanese style to create their own works of art.

In regard to this ancient craftsmanship, the launch line-up of “Products of Japan” features Ukiyo-e (woodblock printing), Sho (calligraphy), silver and gold ware, Cloisonné ware, and folk wear, hand-made by skilled artisans. The Ukiyo-e collection is especially fine with expert buyers travelling all over the world in search of rare first prints.

Also remarkable is the original jewelry in our E-Gallery. In ancient Japan, pieces of jewelry (mainly crystal and jade) were used by Shinto priests or shrine maidens in rituals, especially as talismans or in summoning the power of nature.

Using this traditional style of decoration as the base, these “Neo-Japanesque” pieces of jewelry are rearranged in a modern style by the renowned artist, Isao Nasu. He uses Japanese traditional techniques such as makie (lacquered wear sprinkled with gold and silver powder) and kumihimo braids, together with the gemstones treasured in the West. These products are gaining popularity both in Japan and abroad.

While the collection features traditional craft works, “Products of Japan” is also planning to add a touch of contemporary Japanese culture to the lineup in the near future: for example, underground art, inspired by Manga, or high-tech gadgets.

All the items featured in “Products of Japan” can be purchased online. PayPal and credit cards are accepted for payment. Orders over 1,000,000 JPY will be accepted via bank transfer only. International shipping is available. We will use the most efficient carrier, depending on the destination and the size of the item.

Visit the website of “Products of Japan” (http://www.jp-made.biz/), and indulge yourself in this wide-ranging collection. Then why not purchase something you can have by your side? You will be mesmerized by the quality and beauty of Japanese traditional art.
