TOKYO –November 10th, 2015 –Tsukuba Future Funding (TFF), the first Universitycrowdfunding-platform in Japan, is excited to announce the launch of their new project, “Yui Project”.

“Yui Project” is the project of developing Artificial Satellite named “ITF-2”. The most valuable and breakthrough point of this project is ACCESSIBILITY; it is not luxury limited to government offices, research institute or wealthy company but it can be used by general public for personal use. Everyone can receive signal from ITF-2 by using receivers such as transceiver or even simple handmade antenna. Moreover, Yui Project offers world-wide communication platform named “Yui Network” on Web, and it enables users to communicate with each other via ITF-2. This collaboration between satellite and Web is expected to be a technological and social innovative system.

On the Yui Network, users can report signals they received with their messages. Users are able to receive picture data, voice data, and beacon signal from ITF-2. All reported contents are opened to the public, therefore this system is able to provide world-wide real-time report status that changes as the satellite orbits.

Furthermore, we are planning to hold receive-experience-sessions; getting together and giving an opportunity to feel closer to space for those who are interested in space, or children. In other words, our mission has an educational aspect. We expect the Yui Network to promote users’ interest in space.

Yui Project is supported by University of Tsukuba, located in TSUKUBA science city of Japan, there are some major research institutes such as JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) and AIST (The national institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology).

With this press-release, TFF offers everyone to contribute to our crowdfunding project. ITF-2 is a unique picosatellite which gives you precious experiences. Anyone can receive its signals and join our network, anytime. We appreciate your supports in order to develop and experiment the safety and stability of ITF-2.
