Panasonic, animateLAB, and BITA Launches “Animation FAQ-bot: 結 (Yui)”

Tokyo - May 25, 2017 - BITA Co., Ltd. (“BITA”) announces "Animation FAQ-bot :結(“YUI”)" ,planned by Panasonic, developed by BITA, BEDORE, animateLAB, NAZ Animation STUDIO etc.結(“YUI”) is able to be used from the official application of "CLUB Panasonic"; Panasonic's free member community. The web version only allows FAQs by free text and animation, compared to the app version which allows the full use, adding functions such as shortcut buttons and voice reproduction.

1.Background
The development of the "chatbot" is spreading, mainly for the purpose of reducing our operational resource loads. But is it possible to not only operate as a substitute for human beings, but to also provide it as an experience that users can enjoy? This project started from this big question.
This chatbot works not only as a simple text-bot, but a designed character given with action and voice, which may actually be able to "serve" customers.
Such a challenge is the outline and purpose of this project. (In this first release, it supports FAQs related to TV, fax and Blu-ray)
2. Specification
BEDORE, a generic model dialogue engine, using natural language processing technology, has been adopted for the analysis and classification of user's utterance.
It triggers animation, voice reproduction and the generation of response sentences.
